Victim and Witness Service Quality Mark

As part of the IPSCJ’s commitment to creating a victim-centred criminal justice service, the Institute is developing the Victim and Witness Service Quality Mark, in conjunction with CoPaCC.

At present the Victims’ Code of Practice and Witness Charter provides some national consistency in the standards of service for victims and witnesses. However the evolution of evaluation and benchmarking processes to measure organisations, services and outcomes remains quite limited.

The development of a Quality Mark applicable across agencies and sectors is at the heart of our programme of work, and will provide a benchmarking and improvement framework tool to drive up service standards, drive commitment to meeting victims and witness needs, and support the building of victim and witness confidence in the justice system.
